Alcohol

Alcohol would be pretty hard to live without. Maybe it is pretty shallow of me to need it. I wonder do I really need it or do I just really like it a lot. I do know that when I am out I am more relaxed when I have a tasty beverage in front of me. The problem I see that I have is that pretty much everything I drink gets drunk at a pretty fast pace. Now I am not going to say that I am a gourmand or anything but I do know what I like and what I am not as big a fan of. Give me any of the following and we will be all set.

  • Red wine (Since I am not a "super taster" one of the 25% of people that have more taste buds than the rest of us) I can take the kick you in the nuts punch of Zin and Cab Sauv. These are my personal favorites.
  • Beer - Now for beer I prefer Irish reds pretty much over anything besides a properly poured half & half. Don't give me one of those British loving black & tans. I want to stay Irish the whole way. After that I will take any good ale during the winter or a good lager/pilsner during the summer.
  • Mix drinks - For mix drinks I will pretty much take anything Smokejacks puts out because those are some people who like their drinks and like to make them dammmnnn tasty. Otherwise I will default to a white russian, cuba libre or "The Fat Girl Drink" a mudslide.
  • Striaght drinking - Now I will give my friend David credit for this. He has gotten me to appreciate whisky, whiskey and bourbon for their our goodness. Before meeting him I might have Jamesons on hand for J&C. Now I usually have 1-2 bourbons a whisky and a scotch (thanks David that one is pretty good but still working my way up to scotch).
Well I guess that is enough talk about drinking. Any more and I will be thirsty, stay up for several hours drinking and I will get nothing done.

Later
